Baby Quilts; Alexander Graeme Barker 12th December 2010
Baby Alex was born on a Sunday morning a little later than he was expected but both mother and baby are fine and I managed to finish the baby quilt in plenty of time. On the Friday as we were off to our work Christmas meal Jill decided not to join us but didn't let on that things might be starting!
So I guessed the sex wrong........but at least there is some blue in the quilt.....and I am sure Alex is able to carry off the pink
I used the remainder of the white backing to bind the quilt and simply quilted in straight lines along the seams.
Sorry for the blurry image but you can see the quilting lines here and the pink GPCR on the back....apparently Jill is the only one in the family to understand it!
Although (yet again!) I have been slack on the blogging I have been busy on the quilting...I have a new project but am keeping this underwraps for now but I can say that it is coming along well. Here's a sneak peak of the material I'm using.
I bought this material at the Twisted Threads festival at the NEC back in August - it was in a fat quarter bundle so the fabrics and colours were lovingly matched (helps me out with my sometimes eclectic colour sense).
