Fairy Stripes

So this is the last of the baby quilt posts I wanted to get logged. Before this last quilt I did make one back in 2004 for my niece Bella, might have to get Felix or Jackie to take a couple of pictures for me so I can have a log of it.

Baby Quilts; Annabel Elsie Tingle 8th December 2009

This is the first quilt I had made in a long while and it was for my friend Sara's first baby who was due towards Christmas 2009. Sara and Pete had found out the sex of the baby so I wanted to make something personal for her baby shower. Mum to the rescue again sent me some great material - I had asked for fairies as I knew Sara would really like the theme - and I knew Sara had butterflies ready in the nursey

Ok, so you can see that I haven't really decided how to take pictures of my quilts....lounge floor....resting on armchairs and finally in a few posts I have moved to the dining room table. At least perhaps an idea of size can be gained from this photo even if it isn't the best.

Up close you can see the fairies :D the other blocks are quite plain but this sets off the patern nicely. Quilting as per usual straight forward and functional - rah!
The backing is felty (green and pinks), and I cut and sewed the bindings separately trying to keep the stripey pattern consistent.
